Fresh Lemongrass tea and more good news

Fresh Lemongrass Tea and other good news

For me, the best part of this cold and dreary time of year is sipping something warm by the fireplace, (or space heater, as it were). I came across lemongrass at the farmer’s market a few weeks ago. What a wonderful tea it makes. Simply wash the lemongrass, one stalk is fine, and break or cut it into several pieces and place in a pot with about 6 cups of structured water. Boil for 5-8 minutes. Pour in your favorite mug and add a teaspoon of pure maple syrup, or more, to taste. {for information on how to structure your water}

This wonder herb, Lemongrass, cleanses the organs of our bodies including the kidney, pancreas, liver, and bladder and can clear skin and treat pimples and acne as a result. Lemongrass also acts as a tissue and muscle toner and helps to improve the digestive system.

Drinking this Lemongrass tea will help reduce blood pressure. Being a detoxifier, lemongrass removes the excess cholesterol, uric acid, toxins and fats from the body. This stimulates blood circulation throughout the body. It is also good for treating gas and indigestion. Ladies, if you live with a man that is dropping some bombs, make him this tea. It will remedy the flatulence. Also, I read that if you mix black pepper in your lemongrass tea, it relieves menstrual cramps. This tea is incredibly soothing. Lemongrass is used extensively in aromatherapy. As you enjoy making and drinking this tea, you will experience aromatherapy at its best, the fresh natural aromatherapy. Crack open the stalk and take a deep breath. Repeat?

Another important thing to remember is that by making fresh lemongrass tea, you are not using packaging. Whether you get lemongrass in your local grocery store produce section, or a farmers market, it doesn’t come in packaging, and there is no need to put it in a bag. At my market, I get a bundle of about 6 stalks, for $1. I’ve bought my week’s tea needs with no tea bags, plastic individual wrappings, and paper product box, for $1. How delightful! The simple pleasures in life can be nearly free. Simple choices that are better for our health, are also better for our dear earth, and better for our pocket book.

Another thing to consider; this tea is so satisfying in the morning and evening. It has no caffeine. Sweetening with natural grade B Maple syrup is like adding a dose of minerals, vitamins, and life force energy to the tea. Nature gives us such delicious abundance.

Make sure you are getting a real maple syrup. I looked at the ingredients for Aunt Jemima Lite Syrup the other day at a friend’s house, and these were the ingredients in proper order: High Fructose corn syrup, water, cellulose gum, salt, natural and artificial flavors, Carmel color, sorbic acid, sodium benzoate and sodium hexameta phosphate. NO MAPLE SYRUP! What?! I’m serious. There is no maple syrup in Aunt Jemima Lite syrup. Seriously, how dare they! Aunt Jemima is a pretty large brand. The fact that they are successful at selling a chemical version of something that is widely available in it’s natural form tells me people do not know what they are buying. So, I’m sharing this with you and encouraging you to read labels and buy real foods. The ingredient you’ll find in a natural maple syrup is: maple syrup. That’s it. It comes from a tree. My in-laws have acres of maple tress they tap for the maple water; the liquid before it turns into syrup. This beautiful enzyme, nutrient rich water is akin to coconut water in its sweetness and delight. So I ask you, friends, to buy real foods always and only. You’ll tap into your SUPERself, which will take this world in a Super direction. You are each apart of that.
